What's Tipplasty?
Tipplasty is a component of rhinoplasty surgery and is a surgical procedure performed to correct the shape and appearance of the tip of the nose. This procedure aims to correct nasal tip curves or deformities, correct nasal tip drooping, or eliminate nasal tip asymmetry.
How Surgery Performed?
Tip plasty is performed as a surgical procedure and may include the following steps:
Consultation: The first step is to consult with the surgeon. During this stage, the nasal structure is evaluated, the patient's expectations are understood and information is provided about the possible results.
Anesthesia: Tip plasty is usually performed under general anesthesia, so that the patient loses consciousness during the surgery.
Making the incisions: During the tip plasty procedure, the surgeon gains access to the inside and/or outside of the nose through incisions made on the nose. These incisions are usually located inside the nose, so they are invisible from the outside.
Shaping the structure: The surgeon shapes the nasal structure to correct or change factors such as the nasal hump, the shape of the tip of the nose, and the size of the nostrils. During this procedure, bone and cartilage tissues are removed or reshaped if necessary.
Closing the incisions: Once the surgical procedure is complete, the incisions are carefully closed and stitches are applied. The surgeon usually leaves the stitches inside, so they are invisible from the outside.
Recovery process: After tip plasty surgery, the patient's nose is bandaged and may need to be monitored in the hospital for a few hours or a few days. During the recovery process, swelling and bruising may occur, but will subside over time. Normal daily activities can usually be resumed within a few weeks.
The tip plasty procedure may vary for each patient and may vary depending on the surgeon's preferences. Therefore, it is important to get the most accurate information from a surgeon.
